Appointments
Appointments
We offer pre-bookable appointments with our GP’s and Nursing Team throughout the week 8.30am – 6.00pm. Our GP appointments are bookable over the phone, at the reception desk and online. Our nursing team appointments are bookable over the phone and at the reception desk, smear test appointments are available to book online – due to the varying reasons for the appointment and length required we do not offer all nursing team appointment booking online. Routine appointments are available to book 4-6 weeks in advance. If you require an appointment on the day or more urgently than routine we will endeavour to arrange an appointment as soon as possible – this may be here at the practice with a GP, Paramedic or our Advanced Nurse Practitioner if appropriate, or at one of several GP access centres across the city offering both GP and Practice Nurse Appointments in the evenings and weekends.
Weekend and Evening Appointments
Local GP practices have teamed up to improve the way we provide weekend and evening appointment for our patients.
This will mean that most people will be able to book weekend and evening appointments closer to where they live. For our patients appointments will be provided at Carterknowle Surgery.
Remote and face-to-face appointments can be made with a variety of GP practice staff including Doctors, Advance Care Practitioners, Nurses, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapists and, Pharmacists.
Initially appointments can be booked through the practice, but we will soon be adding the option for patients to book direct online and through NHS 111. Click here to find out more

Our reception team are very knowledgeable about what sort of issues can be dealt with over the phone and may advise you that a telephone call will not be suitable.
