Dr Lydia Mawer (f)

Dr Lydia Mawer Law LLB (Hons) MB ChB DFSRH MRCGP qualified at Sheffield University in 2009 and worked in Sheffield and Barnsley before joining the Barnsley GP Training Scheme.

As part of her training, she has worked in hospital specialties including Urology, Gastroenterology, Endocrine Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, A&E, Care of the Elderly (General Medicine), Paediatrics, and Medical Endocrinology.

She has also worked at two Barnsley GP Practices. During her GP training she also completed a diploma in sexual and reproductive healthcare with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.

She is a member of the local Royal College of General Practitioners faculty board and currently works with the college to promote General Practice and to develop educational courses for GPs.

Dr Liz Ness (f)

Dr Liz Ness (MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP) qualified as a GP in 2015.

She has a special interest in women's health and completed the DRCOG in 2013. She is part of a menopause forum and trains students in women's health.

Her other special interest is in palliative care, she has spent time working at a hospice and teaches medical students about the care of patients who are approaching the end of life.

Outside of medicine she likes to run ultramarathons and she volunteers at a foodbank. She also enjoys participating in her local parkrun.

Dr Eppie Habashi (f)

Dr Eppie Habashi (MBChB, MRCGP) qualified from the University of Leeds in 2010. She worked in Halifax, Bradford and Barnsley hospitals, then did her GP training under the Barnsley scheme, finishing in 2015.

Her hospital rotations included jobs in A&E, ENT, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, dermatology, rheumatology, sexual health and acute medicine.

She is involved in training medical students, junior doctors and GP registrars.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and going to the gym.

Dr Zakaria Rob (m)

Dr Rob (MBBS, BSc (Hons), MRCGP) trained at Barts and The London (graduating in 2020) before moving back to Sheffield. He worked in both Sheffield and Barnsley hospitals before starting his GP training in Sheffield.
His training included rotations in Care of the Elderly, Old Age Psychiatry, General Surgery, A&E, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Cardiology, and Diabetes & Endocrinology,
He is involved in the training of medical students, as an Early Years Tutor for the University of Sheffield.
In his spare time he is also involved in a global fundraising initiative for children.

Billie Walch (f)
Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Billie Walch, qualified as an Adult nurse in 2006, BSc with honours in nursing in 2008, MSc in Advancing clinical practice 2015, studied at the University of Sheffield. Billie worked as a practice nurse in 2010-2015 before working for the Sheffield clinical commissioning group (CCG), then she moved on to specialist roles in asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. Her specialist interest is respiratory, she holds diplomas in both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma and has a qualification in spirometry. Billie joined the practice in September 2022. She is an independent prescriber and does minor illness clinics, as well as other practice nurse duties on both Mondays and Tuesdays.

Emily Wingfield (f)

Emily joined the practice in January 2025.

Emily qualified as a Nurse in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing from the University of Nottingham. She began her career at Salford Royal Hospital, taking a rotational position working in Emergency, Respiratory and Cardiology.

She later moved into general practice, completing a year-long course in General Practice Nursing at Salford University, before developing a specialist interest in inclusion healthcare. In this role, she worked closely with refugee and asylum seeker communities, as well as people experiencing homelessness. This led to studying an MSc in Global Health at the University of Manchester, graduating with distinction in 2024.
Emily has a particular passion for health improvement and chronic disease management, supporting patients to live well with long-term conditions.

Outside of work, she enjoys getting out into the Peak District, fell running, cycling and climbing.

Helen has worked at Rustlings Road Surgery since February 2010, initially as part of the reception team and then following training as our Healthcare Assistant. Helen works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and has several clinics throughout the week offering blood tests, blood pressure checks including ambulatory blood pressure checks, ear syringing, wound management, NHS Health Checks and some vaccines such as Influenza, Pneumonia and Shingles.

Training practice

We sometimes have a medical student training with us. They may sit in with the Doctor or the nurse for some clinics, but we will advise you in advance so that you can ask for the student not to be present if you prefer.

GP net earnings

From April 2016 it has become a contractual requirement for all GP practices to publish the mean net earnings of the partners, salaried GPs and locums who have worked in the practice for over six months, on their Practice website.

The average pay for GPs working at Rustlings Road Medical Centre in the last financial year 2023/24 was £62,167 before tax and National insurance. This is for 1 Full-time and 2 Part time doctors who worked at the practice for more than 6 months.
