Nurse led clinics
We provide nurse led services offering dietary advice, smoking cessation advice and prescriptions, travel vaccinations and health advice, diabetes clinics, heart disease clinics, vaccinations, cervical smears, contraception, dressings, blood pressure monitoring, asthma clinics, chronic lung disease clinics, and post-natal check-ups.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Our advanced nurse practitioner is able to treat adults and children over 2 with acute minor illness such as:
- Coughs and chest infections
- Hayfever
- Sore throats
- Earache/ear infections
- Sticky/sore eyes
- Cystitis/urine infections
- Thrush infection
- Vaginal discharge/infection
- Contraception
- Advice on general health issues
She is able to provide a prescription if required and refer you to a GP if necessary.
Blood Tests
If a clinician has advised you need a blood test there are a number of options of where you can have your test done:

The Royal Hallamshire Phlebotomy department are Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 5:15pm* and Saturdays 8am – 1pm*.
The drive through blood taking service at Longley Lane are Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) 7.30am – 5.15pm* and Saturdays 8am – 1pm*.
Northern General Phlebotomy walk-in service are Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 4pm. The Phlebotomy department can be found in the Huntsman building on B floor.
*Please note: last admission into the department will be 30 minutes before published closing times

Pharmacist
We have a practice pharmacist who you may speak to regarding your medication; reviews, monitoring and any medication changes. If you have any questions about your medication please ask reception to book you an appointment.
Travel Vaccinations
Planning to travel outside the UK? You may need vaccinations to protect against serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
What you need to do:
If you think you may need travel vaccinations, please complete the Travel Risk Assessment Form below. A member of our nursing team will review your form, determine the vaccines you may need, and contact you to arrange an appointment, they will also inform you if you are up to date and do not require anything.
Important Note: We only accept travel forms for individuals whose departure date is at least 6 weeks from the date the form is submitted.
Free Travel Vaccines on the NHS:
We provide the following travel vaccines free of charge:
· Polio (given as part of a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio injection)
· Typhoid
· Hepatitis A
· Cholera
Private Vaccinations:
The following vaccinations are not covered by the NHS. These can be arranged and paid for privately at a travel clinic or certain pharmacies:
· Hepatitis B
· Japanese encephalitis
· Meningitis
· Rabies
· Tick-borne encephalitis
· Tuberculosis (TB)
· Yellow fever
· Malaria tablets
